Advanced Dental Technology Abilene

Pushing the Boundaries of Dentistry

In order to create beautiful, healthy smiles, we combine the experience and expertise of our staff with the precision of the finest technology in the dental industry. We couldn’t take on the various dental cases we see without the use of trusted equipment, which is used to provide advanced dental services, including lab work and in-house surgery, and allows us to complete each procedure successfully.

Digital Impressions

We utilize digital impression scanners when possible compared to the original general impression material. These smaller, faster, and more precise computers digitize the teeth and mouth in just a few minutes. Most of our patients are surprised at the comfort and speed versus the traditional impressions of the past.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays changed the game decades ago. Dr. R. Hawley was an early adopter of this technology for the comfort of the patient. We offer routine digital X-rays like full mouth series (FMX), bitewings (BWs), and periapicals (PAs). When we need more diagnostic information than two dimensional X-rays from above, we use our in-office CBCT (cone beam computerized tomography). This gives us a 3D rendering of the tooth, teeth, jaws, nerves, airway, or any other area of interest. We then can use these to help diagnose a problem or digitally treatment plan before starting a procedure.

Virtual Planning & In-House Fabrication

To plan for an upcoming implant procedure, we will use virtual computer software to visualize what needs to be done and create a digital plan for success. We will first take digital, 3D images of the patient’s mouth and jaw to help us visualize the treatment area. From there, we can craft a digital plan using software and even 3D print personalized guides and temporaries to make the process even more streamlined and predictable. We’ll be able to see in close detail where we will have to position the implants so they end up in the perfect place and at the perfect angle and depth.

Intraoral Camera

Our office uses an intraoral camera that can be placed into your mouth to capture close-up images of your teeth and gums from the inside. These can be taken and downloaded instantly so our dentists can see them right away and share them with you while you are sitting in the dental chair. Intraoral cameras make it easier for our team to diagnose and treat patients while making your experience with us transparent and easy to understand.
